The Whisper

Finally resting in bed for the night, my mind was on a few things I needed to do. But all I could think to ask the Lord was, “How are you tonight?” (I mainly am able to write when all the boys are asleep.) Immediately my mind was flooded with thoughts for His kids, every single person on the planet right now. We are always on His mind, His constant focus. The next thing I noticed after I asked the Lord that question was a pulling, tugging on the hearts of the willing to go help God’s kids in need. I thought of two places in the Bible that confirmed what I saw: We are His hands and feet (1 Cor. 12:27). He leads us with His eye (Psalm 32:8).

Psalm 32:8 makes me think of the way husbands and wives can communicate telepathically sometimes. You know, the eye toward the door that says, “I’m ready to go now.” Can you imagine trying to pull on someone’s heart to get them to do something? Super frustrating when they don’t even listen to words (currently my three-year-old, Will.) God is all-powerful, creator of the universe. He could have chosen any way to get us to do His will, yet He chose the softest, quietest way to get our attention. He’s not in the lightening or thunder, He’s the still, small voice (1 Kings 19:11-13).

The more we get to know Him and His character, the easier it is to listen with our hearts as He guides us with His eye.

Wherever you are today, know that you’re on the Father’s mind always. Ask Him what’s on His heart. Most likely the answer will be you, and He will have something special for you to do to bless someone, which in turn will bless you.

Have a great Sunday y’all.

Love and hugs,

Cristy
