Discord Among Brothers

I shared a post last week that has caught a lot of attention and has been a source of contention about Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson and the spirit of Jewish hatred behind their words. I’m going to speak to the lies I’m calling out, because like a mother hen swoops over her children I am outraged over the uptick in Jewish hatred because of these lies, and then I’m moving on.

Boat docked outside of Jewish restaurant on the Sea of Galilee

Both of them have claimed the Israeli government was committing genocide before the war was over in Gaza, which is verifiably false, yet they did not own up to or apologize for their false claims. Everyone that I speak to about the word “genocide” says to me, “well it’s still wrong that the Israeli government killed that many people.” The truth is that Israel is the size of New Jersey, so Gaza is a tiny suburb. The truth is that Hamas uses civilians as human shields. The truth is that Hamas is the terrorist organization that infiltrated Israel’s border and attacked thousands of people and brutally killed them and took them as hostages. If that would’ve happened on US soil, I know our president would go after every American hostage with a vengeance, why is Israel not allowed to do the same? Additionally, there were paid influencers by Hamas to create videos to pull on sympathetic hearts to turn the war in their favor, when Hamas committed the crimes against humanity in the first place, and they are still committing crimes in Gaza and oppressing the people who live in Gaza to this day, even though Israel is not there. The media doesn’t care about the people in Gaza now that Israel pulled out after the hostages were returned. Retrieving the hostages was the whole point of the war in the first place. I’ve heard that Israel killed 70,000 people in Gaza. Do you know verifiably how many Hamas fighters are in that number? No one does because Hamas doesn’t tell the truth. The fighters dress like civilians and use civilians as human shields (including women and children). What was Israel supposed to do? Leave their hostages to die? I know the U.S. wouldn’t do that! If Israel was committing genocide, they would have targeted literally every country surrounding them (they are all Palestinian Arab Muslims), but they left when their hostages came home. People forget history. In the early 2000s, Hamas and Israel had a peace deal. Israelis used to live in Gaza. They had synagogues and everything. All Jewish people left in exchange for a peace deal, but there has since been no peace. There won’t be either unless Hamas is removed permanently.

Candace Owens claimed the Muslims are oppressed in Jerusalem, which is also verifiably false. (The only Muslims who are ever physically oppressed are the women brought up in that religion wherever they may live, but that is for another post.) I’ve walked the streets of Jerusalem. It’s true that there are three different quarters, one is “Christian” which is Catholic, one is Jewish, and one is Muslim. The Muslims currently occupy the Temple Mount. Everyone can move freely throughout each quarter. There are some holy sites that Jews are not allowed in the Muslim quarter and Muslims are not allowed in the Jewish quarter. So no, Muslims are not oppressed in Jerusalem. They are in Gaza though!

The last lie is that the Jews that live in Israel post 1948 are not the same Jews of the Bible. I met a Jewish restaurant owner in Galilee. She stopped to talk to our table to tell us about herself. Her ancestors fled the holocaust and lived mostly in New York, but her dream was to come back to Israel. So she did! You have to prove that you are Jewish to be able to migrate back, (I don’t know all the details associated with that), but I remember her saying that her DNA test and her daughter’s DNA test were 99.99% Jewish. She and our Jewish guide said the blood tests can trace down to the tribe that they come from. So yes, the Jews in Israel absolutely come from the Jews of the Bible. In our day, we are literally watching the Bible unfold. Jeremiah said that the people of God would no longer remember the Lord as the God who brought them up out of Egypt, but the God that returned them to their land out of all the places that he had scattered them (Jeremiah 23:7). That happened in 1948.

Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson are entertainers who “sow discord” for a living —that is, to cause contention according to Proverbs 6:19. They do it to boost the algorithm and get paid. I’m sure some of what they say is true, but when huge commentators and journalists mess with the people of God, the mama bear in me comes out. In the process, they have also become false witnesses (as outlined above).

Proverbs 6:16-19 says there are seven things the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to Him:

17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 a heart that devises wicked plans,

feet that make haste to run to evil,

19 a false witness who breathes out lies,

and one who sows discord among brothers.

My Christian sisters are on Facebook contending with me that Candace and Tucker are not antisemitic. I don’t know their hearts. Hopefully in their hearts they aren’t, but their WORDS have sown discord among us and I hate it like my Father. Their WORDS that they’ve copied probably indirectly from Hamas have fueled an uptick in Jewish hatred. I’m mama bear, and I’m not ok with either of these things.

Here is a Birds Eye view of the situation: the enemy hates the Jews and the Christians. The enemy will do everything and anything to warp Christians view of Israel to pull their support and prayers away from the Jews. Remember that Jewish restaurant owner? She called us Christians her “Iron Dome.” If you don’t know what that is, it’s the Israeli defense system that shoots down rockets fired over them. Christians I implore you to continue to be Israel’s iron dome despite what you hear in the media and from big names. Ultimately we will continue to watch the Bible unfold, and the rise in Jewish hatred will only increase before the end.

So I will reiterate: put the phones down, turn the tv off, get in the Word and spend time in the presence of God. Everything else is a waist of time.

If anyone tries to debate me, I will not respond unless it’s in person. It’s also Christmas Eve, and I’m going to take my advice and put my phone up!

I love you all fiercely! Merry CHRISTmas!
