Psalm 31:18 Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
The Bible says the enemy is our accuser before the Lord, but Jesus is our vindicator. How many of you are tired of the enemy’s same lies? This is one I hear a lot: You’re not good enough.
The Lord has impressed upon me the importance of silencing the enemy with the Word. As busy Christians, we tend to hear the lies and just keep moving forward, not taking the time or spending the energy to address them. But this is what the Word says to do: take every thought captive and command it to come into the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:5). We also have Jesus as an example, speaking the Word to the devil when he was in the wilderness, “It is written…” (Matthew 4:4-10).
So I started saying, out loud, you’re right devil. I’m not good enough. But greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). Thank God that when I’m weak, He is strong (2 Cor. 12:10). Thank God that I don’t have to be good enough!
I still have to speak to the lies, but this one is fading. There’s always going to be a new lie around the corner. Don’t get too busy to address it and silence the enemy’s lying lips. You have the authority to put your accuser to silence.
Have a great day!
